

The Ohio Association of Election Officials is a bipartisan organization representing Ohio’s 88 county boards of elections and their staff members. Its mission is to promote fair, accurate and reliable elections through the education of its members, advocating for sound election policies, and communicating accurate information regarding the administration of elections.

About the event
Overview: In this interactive workshop, participants will explore the elements of chain of custody drawing on practices from other fields and applying them to elections. The course will review standard practices in starting and maintaining chain of custody, allow participants to exercise that knowledge by working together in an exercise to reconstruct a chain, and workflow custody tracking for critical election equipment and supplies. At the end, participants should understand what information is necessary to a complete chain of custody, how they can plan and build forms for chain of custody, and evaluate current chain of custody forms and practices.
